Join FreshWater Cleveland for a Common Ground conversation on June 30

On June 30, Clevelanders will convene at various points around the city for conversation, connection, and cuisine as part of the Cleveland Foundation's annual Common Ground initiative. This year's prompt is: "My environment was... My environment is... My environment will be...."

This year, FreshWater invites our readers to join us in answering that question by exploring how the shifting media landscape affects our local news environment here in Cleveland. Also, what can we do to rebuild the erosion of trust between the media and the public?

Our Common Ground conversation will discuss the importance of supporting local media and ways the media can adapt to a rapidly changing environment. The FreshWater team will also open the floor for story ideas and share ways that the community can get involved in resident reporting to give voice to the people, places, and projects shaping and transforming Cleveland. Lunch (sandwich, side, dessert, and drink) will be provided by EDWINS Butcher Shop. Residents of Greater Cleveland, local media representatives, and anyone else interested in this topic is welcome to attend.

This free event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, and a delicious lunch will be provided by EDWINS Butcher Shop (13024 Buckeye Rd, Cleveland, OH 44120). RSVP is required — please secure your spot here: https://nvite.com/clevelandfoundation/caa95
