A recent segment on MSNBC's Morning Joe highlighted how young entrepreneurs are reviving the Rust Belt.
On the program was Details magazine's Jesse Ashlock, who discussed a "Rust Belt renaissance" currently happening in the Heartland.
A clip from a companion article in Details magazine states: "The Motor City is just like the buckle on the Rust Belt, an entire region whose very name speaks of decline and decay but which is now determinedly -- and definitively -- finding its way forward. In fact, while the rest of America has staggered under the weight of the Great Recession, the innovators, entrepreneurs, thinkers and doers in cities like Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo and Youngstown have raced out ahead, leading a Heartland renaissance whose effects are being felt from coast to coast."
Speaking specifically about Cleveland, Ashlock says, "There's very good news. One of my favorites is a design company called A Piece of Cleveland that goes in and upcycles the old-growth timber from houses that are about to be demolished and turns it into products and architectural elements that people who want a piece of Cleveland can purchase."
