Cleveland's own Iron Chef Michael Symon won the 5th annual Rachael Ray Burger Bash, held last weekend at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival. Here are just a few of the many press mentions of Symon's big win, which was the first back-to-back victory in the event's (short) history.
Huffington Post emphasized that Symon was up against some serious competition.
"Nearly 30 chef and restaurant competitors served up their signature burgers to throngs of fans, including Michael White and his Ai Fiori dry-aged White Label burger, 2009 winner Spike Mendelsohn (dressed as the Hamburglar), Lonesome Dove's Tim Love serving up a well-received elk burger with foie gras and huckleberry jam, Morimoto and his wagyu burger with fried egg, Michael Schwartz, Laurent Tourondel, the esteemed Shake Shack burger (and winner of the inaugural Burger Bash in 2007), and the GQ-named best burger of 2010, Umami Burger out of LA."

Eater.com noted that Symon "took home the coveted People's Choice Award for an unprecedented second year in a row."
"Symon also won the Heinz Best Dressed Burger award with his Yo! Burger, made with fried salami, provolone, shasha sauce, and pickled onion. Said Symon after receiving the trophy, 'Last year it was pastrami. This year it was the salami. It's meat-on-meat, baby!'"

Short Order, the Miami New Times Food Blog, gives a first-person account of the food fued.
"We can't say the result was a surprise. Though lines stretched to mid-tent for Morimoto, Shake Shack, Umami Burger, Good Stuff Eatery (Spike Mendelsohn), and Michael's Genuine, we waited a whopping 20 minutes to get to the front of the B Spot line, only to discover that the holdup was mostly attributed to demand for photos with the ever-smiling Symon."
Many celebrity chefs were also present at the Burger Bash. "Judges included Todd English, Bobby Flay, Rachael Ray, and Art Smith, but we also spotted Ted Allen and Gail Simmons enjoying the meat locker, while Jason Taylor also made a quick pass. Rumors of a certain Mr. Bourdain circulating throughout the tent also spread, but our cameras couldn't catch him."
