It’s time to celebrate summer in Cleveland’s Edgewater neighborhood, with Northwest Neighborhoods’ signature art, music, and play event Edgewater NeighborFest on Sunday, June 25. The 30-year neighborhood tradition brings street festivities to Clifton Boulevard between West 115th and West 117th Streets. 

Joshua Jones Forbes, Northwest Neighborhoods marketing director, says he is expecting more than 10,000 guests to attend this year’s NeighborFest, which is free and open to everyone.

“It looks like NeighborFest will have a huge turnout this year, with more vendors for shopping and the return of our resource fair,” he says. 

Neighborhood Fest is meant to foster fun and meaningful experiences with games, entertainment, shopping, and relaxation, as well as strengthen and connect residents in and around the Cudell, Edgewater, and Detroit Shoreway neighborhoods.

The main stage at the west end of the festival will host a lineup of musical entertainment to get guests dancing, including Rose Cora Perry & The Truth Untold, Jack’s Jazz, and DJ Aaron Terkel. 

Get into the party mood with specialty cocktails from the Twist Social Club’s Street Bar near the stage, while in the Vendors Market, Yum Village will serve Afro-Caribbean bowls; and old favorites Tick Tock Tavern, Papa Nick’s Pizza, and Landmark Smokehouse will serve street food. Scoot! Cold Brewed and Remixx Ice Cream + Cereal Bar will round out the options with coffees and desserts. 

Edgewater Neighborfest 2022The Vendors Market will also house local artists, including Mata Ziegler, Angela Novak, and Joey Catanzarite Studio, along with shops like IV Soul, U.C. ME Boutique, Urban Planting Cleveland, and Hide & Honey.

U.C. ME Boutique will also stage a fashion show, and Showout Line Dancing will host a demonstration.

“Showout Line Dancing was also a big hit last year and filled Clifton with dances,” says Jones Forbes, “so we're excited to have them back, too

There will be plenty of children’s activities, including hands-on crafts with Cudell Fine Arts, the City’s only public arts center. RTA’s Operation KidWatch from RTA will be producing free children’s IDs. while the Cleveland Orchestra will host instrument discovery sessions, and Cleveland Kids Book Bank will give away picture books. 

For the animal lovers, the Pets Pop-Up will offer free dog portraits from Sell with Wendy Real Estate, Pink Spike! Studios will sell pet accessories, meet an adoptable pal from City Dogs Cleveland. 

The LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland will offer its wellness programs, affinity groups, and free HIV/STD testing.  

The Resource Fair returns this year at the east end of the festival with quality-of-life services. Learn about library upgrades and summer reading with Cleveland Public Library; find free job training with Cleveland Job Corps; and the Say Yes Cleveland table will have scholarship and support services for students. 

“It’s always fun to hang out in the sun with our neighbors,” Adam Stalder, Northwest Neighborhoods executive director said in a statement. “We invite everyone to spend a day in the Edgewater neighborhood and meet the creatives and entrepreneurs of our community.” 

Twist Social Club will host the event’s official after party and drag performances at the club, 11633 Clifton Ave.

Edgewater NeighborFest takes place Sunday, June 25 on Clifton Boulevard from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The full performance schedule will be posted on the NeighborFest website.
