One hot ticket

A sizzling collection of blockbuster films is coming to Old Brooklyn's Loew Park this summer. The park's free Cleveland Summer Cinema series runs every Tuesday through August 15, excepting July 4. Shows begin at sundown on Ohio's largest movie screen. This year's big-name titles are "Finding Dory" (June 20), "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" (June 27),  "Princess Bride" (July 11), "La La Land" (July 18), "Ratatouille" (July 25), "Sing" (August 1), "Wall-E" (August 8), and "Beauty and the Beast" (August 15).

Say Namasté

Cleveland yoga practitioners can stretch, meditate and perform their favorite sun salutation during North Coast Namasté at North Coast Harbor. Now in its fourth season, the lakefront yoga series features traditional multi-level yoga for all ages.

The free, 45-minute classes are hosted each Tuesday evening at Voinovich Bicentennial Park through September 26. This summer's sponsors include Puma Yoga, Vision Yoga & Wellness and Green Tara Yoga & Healing.  Onsite registration opens at 5:50 p.m. each week, with classes beginning at 6:15.

Rhyme time

Twelve Literary and Performative Arts Incubator is bringing the good vibes to Public Square this summer for a trio of mock poetry slams. "Poetry for the People" hits downtown for three dates - June 22, July 14 and August 18 - and features a bevy of bards both young and old. The event is part of Arts & Culture in the Square, a series of free arts and culture events supported by Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC).

Out on the street

A summer street festival heats up Lakewood on Saturday, July 8, with games, food vendors, live music, a beer garden, and general outdoor fun. The Lakewood Summer Meltdown, sponsored by Melt Bar & Grilled, is a family-friendly shindig with activities ranging from a sprinkler park to skateboarding to yoga demonstrations.

Included in the festivities is the Meltdown 5K race, which draws hundreds of participants looking to get their sweat on before indulging in the party atmosphere. Local brews available in the Gary K. Bish Memorial Beer Garden will compliment dining options from vendors and food trucks. Alternative rockers Front Porch Lights provide the evening's entertainment.

An 'Enticing' summer soiree

Heights Arts hosts its "Enticing" benefit on Saturday, July 15, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at a downtown penthouse on 629 Euclid Avenue. While providing gorgeous views of Cleveland's skyline, the benefit brings music from Moustache Yourself and scrumptious creations from nine Northeast Ohio food artisans. Big Fun owner and Cleveland activist Steve Presser will be the night's guest of honor. Presser has been a presence on Coventry Road for decades, and is a founding board member of Heights Arts.
