Frontiers of Astronomy

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History will host a space exhibit Thursday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m. The exhibit, presented in conjunction with Case Western Reserve University, will show data collected during NASA’s Kepler Mission. Tabetha Boyajian will present future works, recent discoveries and recent developments. It is a lecture-type experience with galleries that are on display. Music In A Sacred Space: Tomassen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas

The Church of the Resurrection in Solon presents a Christmas celebration of stories, dance and music from Ireland. Advanced String Quartet

Holiday Concert

The Maltz Performing Arts Center presents “The Composer is Dead,” a concert for all ages. The music is based on the children’s novel by Lemony Snicket and is performed by The Suburban Symphony Orchestra. Inlet Dance Theatre Performance

The Beachwood Arts Council will host an Inlet Dance Theatre performance in the Beachwood High School Auditorium on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 2 to 3 p.m. The Cleveland-based dance company was founded by Bill Wade in 2001. Holiday Arts Family Night

The Hospice of the Western Reserve presents a healing arts family night for people grieving around the holiday time. It will provide a creative outlet for stress relief. Attendees will be taught how to make a holiday-themed, six-sided kaleidoscope, using greeting cards, calendars and magazine photos. Attendees are encouraged to share memories of loved ones through the process. Color and Comfort: Swedish Modern Design

The Cleveland Museum of Art presents work by Josef Frank and other mid-20th century Swedish artists, featuring themes of nature and pattern. The exhibit, which opens Tuesday, Dec. 17, and runs through Feb. 9, was developed by graduate students in museum studies and art history at Case Western Reserve University. Annual Messiah Sing

Conductor Todd Wilson leads the Trinity Chamber Orchestra, with massed singers including the audience, performing Handel’s “Messiah.” It’s part of the BrownBag Concert Series, established in 1978, which provides quality music free of charge for urban dwellers and workers in the acoustical and architectural splendor of a cathedral.
