This month, Wednesdays are for music. Every Wednesday in July, Cleveland's Warehouse District will host acoustic lunch concerts inside the Worthington Yards courtyard. Brent Kirby will perform on July 10, Gretchen Pleuss on July 17, Ray Flanagan on July 24, and Jul Big Green on July 31. Each show will run from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Click here to get into the groove.

Beat the heat
Say cheese! LakewoodAlive and Melt Bar & Grilled will present Lakewood’s tenth annual Summer Meltdown in downtown Lakewood on Saturday, July 13, from 4 to 10 p.m. More than 10,000 folks are anticipated to attend this summer event staple, which features a street festival with 100+ vendors, live music, "fun runs," sprinkler park, beer garden, skateboard park, and much more. Gone fishing
Enjoy a day of fishing and outdoor activities at Doan Brook Watershed’s 18th Annual Family Fishing Day on Saturday, July 13 at Rockefeller Park Lagoon. Families can get “hooked” on fishing by teaching them how to cast a net, tie knots, and (hopefully) catch fish from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plus, learn how to spot native Ohio fish and see local aquatic life under a microscope! A free hot dog lunch will be provided, and tackle boxes and fishing equipment will be raffled off. Full 411 here.

Word party
On Saturday, July 27, the Cleveland Public Library will celebrate its 150th Anniversary Street Fest from 1 to 10 p.m. Attendees can tour the library's The World of Puppets: From Stage to Screen exhibit; enjoy a packed entertainment lineup; meet Pete the Cat author Eric Litwin; and much more. Giveaways include free "The Lion King" tickets for the first 200 student attendees who've completed the Summer Lit League program, as well as free backpacks filled with school supplies for kids and teens. Literary Cleveland's annual festival is back! As Northeast Ohio's largest free festival for writers and readers, the Inkubator has expanded to four days of programming from July 24-27 including writing group matchmaking, live readings, a book swap, and a full day of classes and workshops with Northeast Ohio notables. A whole lot-ta fun
From July 12 through August 10, Slavic Village Development will transform the vacant parking lot at 6600 Union Ave. into a living scene from The Wild Robot. This free literary lot will offer an array of programming—from writing workshops to music to mural painting—and show local youth the possibilities for creative land re-use. More info here.
